01 / THE COST DIFFERENCE
Paying £500–£900 a month? See the difference a fixed fee could make.
OpenTable can charge a subscription plus fees for diners seated through its network. More chargeable covers can mean a bigger bill.
Illustrative example. Fees depend on your agreement and booking channel. Direct website, phone and walk-in bookings have no cover fee on OpenTable Core/Pro.
Estimate: (your monthly bill − £169) × 12. Compare like-for-like VAT treatment. Excludes payment processing, extras and any switching costs.

Reserve with Google is included in your Dojo package. No extra charge per cover.

AN OPENTABLE NETWORK ROUTE

Illustrative booking routes. OpenTable also offers Reserve with Google. Charges depend on your booking source and agreement.
When a guest searches for your restaurant, your Google profile is often the first place they see your photos, opening times, menu and booking link. Reviews collected there stay attached to your restaurant, helping future diners make a decision before they ever visit a booking marketplace.
After a visit, Dojo can send an automated review request that takes guests to your Google Business Profile. It is a simple way to turn a good experience into public proof that you own and can keep building. Review requests should invite honest feedback; they should not promise a rating or suppress genuine criticism.
OpenTable can promote your restaurant to people browsing its marketplace, but some clicks may come from diners who were already searching for your restaurant by name. In that case, the marketplace can sit between the guest and a booking they may have made through your own Google profile or website.
There is another trade-off: when your preferred time has no availability, the marketplace can show the diner another restaurant instead. Your own Google profile keeps the search focused on your restaurant, your reviews, your menu and the booking route you control.
The practical choice is not reach or reputation. Measure what OpenTable is adding beyond demand you already receive from Google, then compare that cost with building a direct presence that keeps working between bookings.
Keep the channels that genuinely bring you profitable bookings, then measure where each reservation came from. A direct Google booking gives you a clearer route from search to reservation and avoids making every guest relationship depend on a third-party listing.
Google is where many diners begin: they search the restaurant, check photos, opening times, menus and reviews, then decide whether to book. A direct booking route means the guest is choosing your restaurant from your own profile rather than being redirected into a marketplace that can compare you with nearby venues.
That does not make Google a guaranteed source of bookings or remove every OpenTable benefit. It gives you a clearer way to measure direct demand, build your own reputation and use email, SMS, vouchers and offers to bring guests back.
Reviews are not a promise of higher rankings or fuller tables. They are one part of the decision journey. Combine a stronger Google profile with targeted email, SMS campaigns, vouchers and offers for quieter services, then see which activity produces a response.
03 / YOUR SERVICE. YOUR REPUTATION.
Automated review requests send guests to your Google profile. Build a reputation future guests can find.
More reviews and positive ratings can help local visibility. A booking button alone does not guarantee better rankings.

Trial eligibility and terms confirmed before setup. £169/month* after the trial if you choose to continue.
The Time Consulting offer is £169 per month with no per-cover fee. Your written proposal will confirm VAT, eligibility, setup, payment-processing charges and any extras. A cover fee is separate from the fee for processing a deposit or payment.
We compare your actual bill and booking mix. OpenTable pricing varies by plan and channel. The £1.50–£2.50 range sometimes used in comparisons is illustrative, not a universal tariff. Our calculator uses your own total monthly bill instead.
Dojo's review requests can help you build reviews on your own Google profile. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking; no position is guaranteed. Reserve with Google makes booking easier, but is not itself a ranking guarantee.
We’ll check whether your reservation-system cancellation fees qualify for support of up to £500. Eligibility, evidence requirements and the amount payable must be confirmed in your written offer before you cancel. This is switching support, not insurance.
Read the two-page Dojo vs OpenTable PDF ↗. We'll confirm the package and any switching support against your venue's needs.
